The film was an adventure for me. "The Last Day of Summer" was created in agony, almost with my own money, in the most primitive conditions. It was a social and artistic scandal. Handheld photo? This was not accepted at the time.

"The Last Day of Summer" was an international success. The film won the Grand Prix at the Venice International Film Festival. Konwicki even received a letter from Germany offering him the position of art director at a private film studio.
